A Sight
to Behold – 7th India International Pet Trade Fair
Introduction
The developments in the market cannot
escape the Head Corporate Relations (“HCR”)
of any organization. HCR are in fact, the eyes and ears of every organization
that enable to better connect with rest of the market to expand the business. Every
business thrives on advertisement, which can be done either by way of networking,
showcasing in fairs and events or by media etc. HCR can play a key role in
bringing together the organizer, the concerned professionals and participants. Through
this article on India International Pet Trade Fair (“IIPTF”), the author
has made an effort in capturing the
action behind the scenes in organizing such large scale events that have
evolved as important mediums of Business Development.
Event organization is an uphill task. It
involves complex legal, financial and other compliances. So, when Creature
Companion magazine geared up to host its 7th edition of the IIPTF at Pune, I
decided to capture such a mega event for our readers from the perspective of business
development.
IIPTF: An
Overview
IIPTF is South Asia’s only annual pet trade
fair and the only event in India, wherein pet industry professionals (domestic
and international) can congregate under one roof to showcase their products and
services to the public at large, as well as, to each other. Industry men and
pet lovers alike visit IIPTF in large numbers. It is one of the much-awaited
events in the country, which is at par with international standards.
The much-coveted IIPTF received a grand
welcome by the pet lovers and suave crowd of ‘Pune-ites’ where it was organized
in its seventh year. The fair was organized in the tranquil Magarpatta township,
which is a far cry from the madding crowd. The show made a kick start beginning
and as you walked in through, you could view carefully aligned kiosk and
boutique arcades. The best part I noticed was whether you were a pet lover or
not, you could never miss out on the thrill that the entire event exudes.
The human pet relationship has grown tremendously and therefore
these fairs need no additional publicity. These fairs not only
emphasized on workshops to improve relationship
with their pets but also
showcased
ways to enhance their well being with innovative pet accessories, pet foods, vetinary
services.
There
is a tremendous growth of the pet industry in India due to following factors-rise
in nuclear families, double income of the households, changing lifestyles, aspiring
higher social standing, steep rise in economic growth, increased levels of
stress, bordering on loneliness. All these factors are responsible for rise in
popularity of IIPTF coupled with the fact that human and animal share close
bonding from time immemorial and these events give opportunity to bring us more
closer to our pets.
How does such an event garners huge success? When I as an
HCR of Legal Imperials was approached with such a query, I facilitated the
professional bonding of the event organizer with legal minds to enable them
find solutions for their client.
IIPTF: A Mammoth Task executed through Legal Imperials
Behind the
scenes of South Asia’s only pet fair was an in-depth research and focused
strategy of the financial, legal and participating corporate professionals. Legal
Imperials with its team of highly trained professionals were assisting LB
Associates Private Limited on the legal front to make the IIPTF 2014, a grand
success. The competent team at Legal Imperials is one of the leaders in
offering trusted legal advice for all such events organisers. The firm specializes in drafting agreements, advising on compliance for such event management and have vast experience in handling the
intricacies that go into organizing these events. The firm assisted clients in developing strategy with advice
based not only on the legal aspects of event management but also on the
practicalities of ground realities. Some of
the efforts exercised by the team of Legal Imperials are enumerated below.
(a) Agreements for organizing the Event
Legal compliances form the bottom line of an event management. The
venue of an event organization is not just a physical location. The venue
decides the success of events. Apart from selecting the site for organizing the
event it also requires entering into multiple agreements with the party leasing
property to hold the event. The participant who would be a part of the event are
also required to enter into various agreements that enable both Indian and
foreign companies to showcase their products in such fairs as per the law of
the land.
(b) Permissions required in
organizing the Event
The organizer is also required to take special permissions from
various departments including fire department, electricity, water department to
ensure continuous supply of its services on site. Further, it is also mandatory
for the organizer to enter into agreements with nearby hospitals, civic bodies,
local sponsors etc. besides different bodies relevant for an event organization.
The liaisoning also involves getting permission from the local police for
seeking their help in securing law and order during the course of the event.
(c) Meeting the Contingencies of the Event
Unforeseen
occurrences at the event had also garnered the vigilant attention of the team.
Protecting the rights of the organizers, participants with respect to thefts
and pillage, redressing the queries of the participant, precautions to prevent stampede
were handled dexterously by the professionals of Legal Imperials.
(d) Post Event:Final Report
Meeting with the client’s expectations and preparing
for the successful event next year, the team of ‘Legal Imperials’ provided an in
depth analysis report by creating immaculate strategies for the success of such future events.
Conclusion
IIPTF was a display of style, kinship and
liberation for all pets and pet lovers, who had travelled far and wide to catch
a glimpse of the new breeds and new products. The success of such an event is
not alone the result of conglomeration of pet lovers but the brainchild of all
those who ensure that the legal and financial compliances are met with in a
timely manner to make such an event a grand success. Event Organizers should
thus connect with an HCR of different professional organizations who can
facilitate such legal and financial compliances required to make the event
truly a sight to behold.
